Secretary-General | Emmett O’Brien

Emmett O'Brien is a third-year student from Beaufort, South Carolina, studying in the Politics Honors Program with a minor in French. He currently works as an editorial assistant on the Presidential Oral History Program at the Miller Center of Public Affairs and has served as an intern on the Crystal Ball newsletter at the UVA Center for Politics. Aside from IRO, Emmett is a member of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society and the Cereal Club at UVA. In his free time, you can find him hiking, reading a Kurt Vonnegut novel, or avidly watching college basketball (Go Hoos!)

 

Chargé d'Affaires | Zach Lederer

Zach is a fourth year from Northern Virginia majoring in Government-Foreign Affairs through the Politics Honors program with a minor in Public Policy & Leadership. In addition to his role on VICS Secretariat, Zach has served as the head delegate of UVA's Travel Model UN and the Secretary-General for UVA's high school MUN conference. Entering his third year as VICS' Chargé d’affaires, Zach is excited to end his VICS career on the Secretariat of the greatest MUN conference, VICS XXIX!

 

Director-General | Jennifer Wen

Jennifer Wen is a first-year from Denver, Colorado, studying foreign affairs. She has been involved with Model UN since her freshman year of high school, and at UVA she is currently in the International Relations Organization and on the UVA Model UN travel team. Outside of Model UN, you can catch Jennifer reading Kafka’s novellas, drawing, or hanging out with friends. She’s so excited to welcome you to Charlottesville!

 

USG Conference Affairs | Will Patterson

Will Patterson is a third year from Virginia Beach, Virginia in the Commerce School concentrating in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Data Analytics. He has been a junior and senior staffer for VICS in the past. Outside of IRO, Will serves as the treasurer of his fraternity and loves to explore the woods and go hiking!

Counselor to the Secretariat | Charlie Meyer

Charlie Meyer is a third-year studying computer science and entrepreneurship. As a serial builder, he could yap for hours about iOS apps, web apps, developer tools, and other services he’s built. Outside of CS, he’s been involved in VICS since his first-year at UVA, serving as Director-General and USG of Media & Design for VICS 27 & 28. Outside of academics, he loves to long-distance run, lift, skateboard, snowboard, and thrift. He’s incredibly excited to welcome everyone to Grounds this March for VICS XXIX!

 

USG Media & Design | Saehee Pérez

Saehee Pérez is a second-year from McLean, VA, majoring in Government. She previously served as the Chief of Staff for VICS XXVIII, and is excited to be the USG of Media & Design. Apart from VICS, she heads UVA’s Model UN team with Anya, is a part of the VAMUN secretariat, Student Council, and the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. Outside of UVA, Saehee loves café-hopping, late night drives (she can’t drive), and is involved in youth policy advocacy.

 

Director-General | Suraj Vaddi

Suraj Vaddi is a second year majoring in CS and Math from Chantilly, Virginia, and he’s excited to return as DG to VICS 29! Outside of MUN, Suraj loves working on software projects, conducting environmental engineering research, and dancing for UVA HooRaas. He is thrilled to welcome everyone to UVA this spring and hopes that everyone has a fantastic committee experience!

 

USG Logistics | Feeman Annas

Feeman is a second year from Fairfax and Fredericksburg, Virginia, planning to double major in Cognitive Science and Global Public Health! Apart from MUN and, of course, VICS, Feeman can be found playing guitar, practicing dance, going to the gym, watching soccer games, and forcing anyone she can find to picnic with her. She is always down to try any new food, can probably vibe with anyone's music, and is excited to meet everyone at the best conference in the circuit!

 

Chief of Staff | Lauren Hensley

Lauren Hensley is a second year from McLean, VA, majoring Civil Engineering with a minor in Systems Engineering. She has been a part of UVA Model UN since her freshman year, and cannot wait to serve as your Chief of Staff for VICS 29! Outside of IRO, she is involved with her sorority, Kappa Delta, Society of Women in Engineering, and the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. In her free time, Lauren loves to hang out with her friends, read silly little mangas, thrift, and go to concerts (ask me about sweat tour PLEASE).
