The Heist of the Crown Jewel

Delegates will represent two sides of a heist in this committee. Delegates will represent members of MI5, INTERPOL, and the British government, all working towards the prevention of the heist of the Kohinoor Diamond as well as dealing with controversy around the posession of the diamond. However, delegates will hold alternate identities in which they represent thieves, hackers, and black-market brokers from around the world tasked with planning and executing a covert operation to steal the Kohinoor diamond in London. Teams must outwit rival crews and international law enforcement while avoiding sabotage from those around them. However, this heist will lead to international consequences that must be handled by the delegates of the committee.

Chair - Priya Buddhavarapu

Priya is a second-year from Fairfax, Virginia, studying philosophy and statistics at UVA! In her free time, you'll find her at the tennis courts, on a run, at a local Thai restaurant, or curled up in bed reading a good book. After seven (amazing) years of MUN, Priya is so excited for VICS to roll up!

Crisis director - nitya varigala

Nitya Varigala is a third-year at UVA from Chantilly, Virginia, majoring in Foreign Affairs and pursuing a Master of Public Policy. She has been a part of Model UN since middle school, and cannot wait to be! Outside of MUN, Nitya is on the Honor Committee, a member of 180 Degrees Consulting, and a member of UVA’s Bhangra team, Virginia DiShaan. Outside of school, you can find Nitya watching sitcoms, trying new restaurants and cafes with friends, or cooking something that will set off her fire alarm!
