African Union
We're Ghana Have to Discuss: Protecting the Rights and Sovereignty of Groups within the African Union, 2024

The African Union (AU) was created in 2002, South Africa, as the successor of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), launched approximately forty years earlier. Its primary objectives include the following: to rid the continent of vestigial colonialist undercurrents, facilitate unity and cooperation to promote development, safeguard sovereignty, and promote internationalism and globalism. Today, some of the AU's priorities include addressing a ceasefire in the Horn, affirming climate security on the global agenda, and bringing about a vision for Sudan's transition to democratic rule.
